A look back at some of the top tracks we have had on repeat throughout February as we enter March full of great music and EP’s.
Lee Burton - Sinewaves
Sinewaves is the lead track from the Greek producers debut release on ‘Up The Stuss’ (Chris Stussy’s label). Sinewaves is a really bass heavy but minimal track that would sound perfect at a festival such as Sunwaves, ironically. The also robotic like vocals and the bass makes for a great opener to the EP. The track which has been in label boss Chris Stussy’s sets for a while now was finally released on the 2nd February along with 4 other tracks with ‘Love Motion’ also deserving of a mention, be sure to check the full EP on all streaming platforms.
Alex Wann & Nes Mburu - Peperuke
Alex Wann the Parisian DJ who in 2023 has taken the deep and afro house scene by storm has released another fantastic track for his catalogue. ‘Peperuke’ features vocals from Kenyan singer New Mburu which seemingly glide across the afro beats blend to make a masterclass in the ever-growing genre powered by Keinemusik. After a strong year full of releases it’s clear the future is bright heading into 2024 for Wann.
Sajmoonn - Mon Coeur
In a fairly unknown and unsaturated genre, Mon Coeur from Sajmoonn is a beautiful bland of jazz and house, with its infectious saxophone that almost transport you into a jazz bar somewhere late at night in Paris its hard not to keep this song on repeat with so little tracks like it, it almost feels like its in a stratosphere of its own leading the way.
DXNBY - Be Happy (Ruff Dub)
Be Happy (Ruff Dub) from UK Producer DXNBY is a monster of a track. Sampling ‘Be Happy’ by Mary J Blige, the Ruff Dub from DXNBY was made for a dark club like the loft, mixing garage and heavy house its the signature sounding DXNBY sounding track. With the producer only releasing via Spotify since 2020, to have his own trademark sound is a credit to his producing skills.
Marsolo - Peer Pressure
Dutch producer Marijin Van Vliet, better known as Marsolo released his new EP ‘Show Me’ via PIV Records on the 2nd February. Any one of the 6 tracks could of been in this list but ‘Peer Pressure’ may just be the best. A real bouncy track from the dutch producer which is no surprise and has that PIV feel to it and will for sure be showcased at PIV Festival later in the year over in Amsterdam. The EP from top to bottom is one of the best releases this year so if you haven’t heard it be sure to go check it out.
